What is this?

FriendAnnoy is an annoyance-as-a-service (AAAS). It's a simple and fun way to annoy friends and family.

To get started, all you need to do is put in the phone number of the victim of this prank. You can keep adding more numbers, each additional number costs $0.15. Each "victim" will receive a phone call that will play an annoying and grating sound at them.

To help ensure that the prank goes off without a hitch, you'll want to "Set Caller ID". When you do this, the call your friend receives will have it's phone number masked to whatever number you set. Pick a number they'll want to answer, such as a parent or their work.

For maximum annoyance, you can schedule the call to happen at a later time, such as at 3 AM.

But, why?

Why not? There's APIs that let you do all sorts of things with phones, so I decided to just toss some together and automate what I had already been doing in person (i.e., annoying my friends).

Privacy and what not

Payments are handled by Stripe, they're the only ones that handle your credit card information. All I get is a token from them that I can use once. I record the phone numbers involved in the call, so that I can make sure that everything is working with the telecom API. You need to enter a name in the "Caller" field, so that the target of the prank can be informed as to who did this to them.

There is no recording of the phone call.
